oscar ‘POACHED’ THE MOVIE in the running for 2016 Oscar nomination.

A lot of exciting thing are happening for me at the moment. During 2014, I participated in the making of a documentary film where I am one of the main characters. I have recently learned that the film has qualified for the 2016 Oscars but not nominated yet. This means that it is It is in the running. The film is called POACHED and is now touring Film Festivals across Europe and the United States before coming to the UK next year.  To view the exclusive trailer for the film, please see Poached the movie  page. Furthermore, my long awaited book Scourge of the Birdman is in its final stages and will be available to buy soon. If you like the film, then you are going to love the book, as it reveals far more about bird crime, from both sides of the fence than the film ever could in just 90 minutes.

About Eyrie Photographics.

For some time now I have been contemplating on starting my own business as a professional bird photographer and as you will see, I am now beginning to fulfil that dream and ambition. This I put down to hard work, constant perseverance and of course, following my dreams. But for me, it also comes from taking inspiration from others when times become difficult and I got inspiration by the bucket load from those around me, but in particular from two men from my own town of St.Helens on Merseyside as you will see if you visited my page on inspiration.

To me, Eyrie Photographics is much more than simply obtaining beautiful images of birds and selling them to the general public. It is also about me being able to share my passion for birds with others and about educating our younger generation, as remember, they are the conservationist of tomorrow. As my business grows, my aim is to fund conservation projects.

As you take time to browse through the various links on my website, I am sure you will begin to learn a little bit more about me, my goals and hopefully take an interest in some of the projects that I will be aiming to achieve, as well as the exciting things that are happening around me.

Thanks for visiting Eyrie Photographics

Female Sparrowhawk with young. One from my session this morning 5th July 2016. As a photographer who specialises in nest photography, I find the most difficult thing to achieve is to obtain an image were the adult and all the heads of the young are visible, the perfect portrait shot. Pleased with today's result as I think I achieved this. This nest originally had four young but one has already branched and sure the others will soon follow so not many sessions left. I have another nest not to far away in the Liverpool area that only hatched last week and which I was looking forward to starting work on tomorrow but on inspection today, some tosser has taken the young from the nest. I know this occurs at times from a few 'so called' bird of prey breeders who are motivated by greed and money and who will plunder nests and then sell on the chicks as being young 'produced' by their birds. Who ever took these particular young, I hope they get a knock at their door very soon from the authorities with a DNA testing kit. Enough said. ...
